Care

All products here, at cajuki, are made with care using durable materials. Care for employees and nature, which means care for the end consumer, you and your child. Once purchased, the care is transferred to the customer. The way we take care of clothes influences their lifespan. To help with that, we have taken some very nice tips written by the cool ladies at Papu Stories, which you can also find in our selection.

Here are some useful general tips but also depending on each fabric:

Follow the care instructions on the labels.
Ventilate clothing if it is not necessarily dirty. However, some manufacturers recommend washing before the first wear, because there is a risk of colors coming out.
Recycle when you no longer need it!

KNITTED COTTON

Check the label for specific instructions.
Normal wash at 30 - 40 ° C.
Do not use high speed spin!
Do not wash with clothing that may damage delicate knitwear (such as zippers or velcro). Or you can use a washing machine bag.
Cotton absorbs moisture very well and for this reason can be quite difficult after washing. Clothes can be dried on a dryer or on the bathroom floor. You can put a towel to absorb moisture. Remember to choose the color of the towel in shades as natural as possible: brightly colored textiles can color while wet.
Use the iron only if necessary and always iron upside down! One tip for replacing the iron would be to spread the clothes by hand before drying.
The use of the drying function is not recommended. This process greatly increases energy consumption. We always recommend natural drying. They can also be dried outdoors, but strong sunlight should be avoided as the colors fade and the fibers become more fragile.
Always store the folded knit. Using hangers can stretch the fabric.

COTTON

Check the label for specific instructions.
Normal wash at 40 ° C.
100% cotton can also be washed at 60 ° C or even 95 ° C. If the 100% cotton clothing is not so dirty, you can wash it at lower temperatures (such as 40 ° C) to save energy.
Use the iron only if necessary and always iron upside down! One tip for replacing the iron would be to spread the clothes by hand before drying. Or you can hang your clothes in the bathroom while taking a shower, and the steam will help smooth the fabric.

Laundry conditioner is not recommended as it can make the elastane brittle and cause the elastane fibers to break. Thus, cotton-elastane clothes will last longer.

MERINO WOOL

Check the label for specific instructions.
Remember that wool items do not need regular washing because wool has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Wool is also stain resistant: if you spill something on the knitwear, the films will most likely roll, and what is left can be easily wiped off!
Most merino wool items should only be washed by hand. Do not wash woolen items in hot water.
Sometimes, ventilating wool items is sufficient.
